Georgia Apogee Scholarship Fund
The Georgia Private School Tax Credit law allows eligible private citizens and corporations to receive tax credits for donations to Student Scholarship Organizations (SSOs), such as Apogee, which in turn awards scholarships to parents and corporations to help cover the cost of a private school education. The state has set aside approximately $50 million in available credits each year distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. These are dollars that you already have to pay in the form of Georgia state income taxes, but the State has given each of us the ability to redirect a portion of the money into a scholarship program. As a result, you receive a tax credit on your state income taxes.
